Short Track Super Series Secures Presenting Sponsor For “Battle Of The Bullring 8” At Accord

The tight quarter-mile Accord Speedway plays host to Round No. 1 of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Hurlock Auto & Speed North Region on Tuesday, May 11 with the eighth edition of the ‘Battle of the Bullring’ at the Ulster County facility.

Joining the STSS Modified North Region competitors are the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman taking part in the first Precision Hydraulic & Oil North Region program.

Land Hoe Maintenance has signed on to present the 2021 ‘Battle of the Bullring’ annual visit by the STSS to Gary and Donna Palmer’s facility.

Based in Danbury, Conn., Land Hoe Maintenance is a complete lawn care, landscape design, plowing, leaf removal and property maintenance company servicing the Danbury area since 1996. With Land Hoe Maintenance, “a great-looking lawn and garden is on the horizon.”

Land Hoe Maintenance was founded by the father-and-son team of Don and John Brown.

The ‘Battle of the Bullring 8’ features STSS Modifieds racing 50 laps for $5,440 to win (remembering Tom Perrego), $1,000 for 10th and $400 to take the green flag plus special awards and bonuses. Crate 602 Sportsman battle for 25 laps with $1,500 going to the winner. Four Cylinders, utilizing Accord Speedway rules, complete the tripleheader with $300 going to the winner of a 15-lap main.

The ‘Battle of the Bullring’ at Accord was one of the original six Short Track Super Series events during the inaugural 2014 season. The race began one year earlier as a non-sanctioned co-promotion involving BD Motorsports Media LLC and Accord’s Gary Palmer.

The event was not run in 2020 as a result of COVID-19 restrictions.
