Accord Speedway To Kick Off ’21 Short Track Super Series’ North Tour May 11th

Story By: CHRIS MOORE / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – ACCORD, NY – You better hang on tight for this 12-second ride!

In less than one month’s time, the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco kicks off the Hurlock Auto & Speed Supply North Region points chase.

The eighth running of the ‘Battle of the Bullring’ gets it started on Tuesday, May 11 at Accord Speedway. After losing the 2020 edition to COVID-19 restrictions, the appropriately named event is “all systems go” for elbows-up action in 2021.

The banked quarter-mile oval in Ulster County is one of the original six facilities to host a series race in 2014, its first season.

The ‘Battle of the Bullring 8’ will also serve as a remembrance for the late Tom Perrego. The STSS Modifieds will race for 50 laps and pay $5,440 to win with the ‘44’ paying homage to Perrego. $1,000 will be reserved for the 10th-place finisher with $400 to take the green flag plus several bonuses and awards.

STSS Crate 602 Sportsman will also be on the card kicking off the Precision Hydraulic & Oil North-sponsored Region. After a 25-lap main event, the STSS Crate 602 Sportsman winner receives $1,500.

Four Cylinders complete the weeknight tripleheader program.

All gates open at 4 p.m. with hot laps starting at 6:15 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m.

General admission prices are $25 for Adults, $23 for Seniors (ages 65 & up) and $3 for Kids ages 11 and under. Reserved seating prices are an extra $2. Indoor Reserved Seating is $35 (call 845-626-1142 to secure an indoor seat).
