Merrittville Hosts T-Shirt Sale & Pizza Drive-Thru To Help After Niagara Race Team Fire

Story By: STEVE PETTY / MERRITTVILLE SPEEDWAY – THOROLD, ONT – Merrittville Speedway will be hosting a t-shirt sale and a drive-thru pizza sale on Saturday, February 20 to assist the Niagara Race Teams recover from the fire that took place in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.

The drive-thru event will take place from 3-6 pm at Merrittville Speedway. T-shirts are $25 for sizes small to 2XL and $30 for sizes 3XL-5XL. The sale will be cash only at the speedway. Besides the t-shirts, Merrittville will also be offering Wood Fired Pizza, made at the speedway. Proceeds from the pizza sale will also go to the Niagara Race Teams. Tickets for the Bicknell Racing Products 2021x Option 1 Chassis will also be available for purchase.

Everyone attending the event must enter the speedway from the gate located on Holland Road behind the turn one grandstands/bar area. T-shirts and chassis tickets will be located inside the bar and the wood fire pizzas will be located adjacent to the Novelty trailer. For the pizza, patrons are encouraged to stay in their car and staff members will come to serve you. Patrons will then proceed through the grandstand area and out the front gate to the parking lot and exit gate on Holland Road.

There has been a recent rule amendment to the S&W Service Centre 358 Modified division. For drivers that are running a DIRTcar 358 legal motor or running the W-16 engine package on gasoline, must use a 650 carb, following the DIRTcar Northeast 358 Modified rulebook. For drivers that are choosing to run on methanol can run up to a 750 carb.

The 70th season of racing at Merrittville Speedway will officially begin on Saturday, April 17th with the 2021 edition of the Spring Sizzler. 360 Sprint Cars and 358 Modifieds will headline the show with the Sportsman and Hoosier Stocks also taking part in their first race of the season. Saturday, April 24 will be the first Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Racing Series program of the season. The Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Racing Series features the S&W Service Centre 358 Modifieds, Rick’s Delivery DIRTcar Sportsman, Hoosier Stocks, Doidge Building Centre/RONA Mod Lites, Central Fabricating/Glo & Go Tanning 4 Cylinders, and the James Auto V6.
