RPW Exclusive: Fonda’s Firecracker 50 Just Got A Bit More Exciting

Column By: RAY ROGERS / RPW – FONDA, NY – On Wednesday, I spoke with John Lakata who had some great news for fans and drivers alike. John and the Fonda Speedway have teamed up and are offering laps sponsorships for the $10,000-to-win Firecracker 50 Short Track Super Series spectacular at the track on July 3rd.

Lakata is no stranger to the upstate racing scene. He’s the mastermind behind the first Jack Johnson Tribute race at Fonda and last year’s tribute to ”Super CD” at Albany Saratoga.

Lakata announced Wednesday that laps for the Firecracker 50 are available to fans and local businesses to sponsor for $100. Along with your choice of the lap, you will also have the choice of position your lap money goes to. This gives the sponsor the opportunity to spread the added bonus around the field as they see fit.

If your a small business or just a faithful fan who would like to get some national exposure, this is a great chance to have your name possibly mentioned on national television. This race will be aired on MAVTV at a later date.
