Bridgeport Speedway Release Schedule For 2019 Racing Season

Story By: KOLBY RAMEY / BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY – SWEDESBORO, NJ – The Bridgeport Speedway has put together an exciting schedule of events for the 2019 season!

The 2019 season will kick off with the 60 Over Special – the Doug Hoffman Memorial Race that honors the former track champion and promoter. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, March 30th, just one week after the track’s open practice session on Saturday, March 23rd. Colonial Pipeline returns as the title sponsor for the 811 Call Before You Dig 2019 Poker Series. The 60 Over Special will kick off the new season along with the 2019 Poker Series for the Spirit Auto Center Big Block Modifieds, Stewart Stainless 602 Crate Sportsman and Outlaw Stocks. Reigning Big Block Champion, Ryan Watt started off his 2018 Championship season with his first win in the 60 Over Special and will be looking to defend his title on opening day.

The 360 sprint Cars of the United Racing Club will kick off their 2019 season when they join the Big Block Modifieds and 602 Crate Sportsman for a Sunday race program on April 14th. 2018 URC Champion, Josh Weller will be leading a host of talented open wheel competitors in this opening day event.

The 2019 point chase gets underway on Saturday, May 4th., There are fourteen scheduled point races for the Big Block Modifieds during the 2019 season with four of those events to take place on the 3/8th mile track during May and June. (Show-up points will be awarded for the World of Outlaw show, the All American 40 and the Rumble on the River.)

The World of Outlaws makes its only 2019 appearance in the Garden State when the likes of Donny Schatz, Kasey Kahne, Brad Sweet, David Gravel and others take on the 3/8th mile Bridgeport track. The 602 Crate Sportsman will join the Outlaws in this double header show on Tuesday May 21st.

Action will continue on the 3/8th mile surface on Sunday, May 26th for the All American 40, the second hand of the 2019 811 Call Before You Dig Poker Series. The wingless sprint cars of the USAC East Coast Sprints will join the Big Block Modifieds and 602 Crate Sportsman for this event.

The United States Auto Club (USAC) comes to town for the 2019 Eastern Storm. The wingless competitors made their debut on the Bridgeport 3/8th mile track a year ago and put on quite a show as Kevin Thomas Jr. came away with the victory for USAC’s first ever event at the Logan Township facility. This race is scheduled for Wednesday, June 12th.

The popular Pack the House event returns to Bridgeport on Saturday, June 22nd. Pack the House is a great time to invite your friends and neighbors to see their first race with the 602 Crate Sportsman, Mid Atlantic Sprint Series, Outlaw Stocks and Rookies competing on the 5/8th mile track while the 270 and 600 Micro Sprints, Slingshots and 8 Cylinder Enduros compete on the Spirit Speedway quarter mile track.

The third hand of the 2019 Poker Series will wrap up the July action with the Rumble on the River on Wednesday, July 31st. This triple header show will see the Big Block Modifieds, 602 Crate Sportsman and Outlaw Stocks in action on the 5/8th mile speedway.

The 2019 Point Champions will be crowned following the final night of points on Saturday, September 7th.

The ever-popular Monster Truck Throwdown returns to Bridgeport on Saturday and Sunday, September 14th and 15th. This event is always a fan favorite.

The fourth annual King of the Big Blocks is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th. Billy Pauch and Ryan Watt are the only two drivers to wear the crown since the first of the King of the Big Block events in 2016. Who will wear the crown this year? This event is also designated as Hand #4 of the 2019 Poker Series as the 602 Crate Sportsman join the Big Block Modifieds for the night of racing action.

The Bridgeport Speedway will close out the 2019 season with a big three-day weekend in November. The Big Track Classic takes place on Friday, November 8th with the URC Sprint Cars, the Underdog 20 for the 602 Crate Sportsman and Outlaw Stocks. The Wildcard Weekend gets underway on Saturday with the return of the URC Sprint Cars, 358 Small Block Modifieds and open practice for Sunday’s final hand of the 2019 Poker Series. Sunday’s show will be a triple header featuring the Big Block Modifieds, 602 Crate Sportsman and Outlaw Stocks with Poker Series Champions being crowned in each division.
