RPW Exclusive: Rich Dodson’s ‘Team Green’ Going Big Block Racing With Willy Decker In 2018
Column By: RAY ROGERS / RPW – CANAJOHARIE, NY – On Tuesday, I spoke with a super-excited Rich Dodson who was happy to announce big changes for the Dodson Race Team in 2018.
Dodson’s “Team Green” will be going Big Block Modified racing this coming year with veteran pilot Willy Decker at the wheel.
“Its something we have been wanting to do for a long time,” Dodson said. “We have a new Bicknell on the way and have acquired a Kevlar powerplant to run this season.”
Team Green will be making the Albany-Saratoga Speedway their weekly home on Friday nights. They also plan to run special Big Block shows in the area and possibly a few Series races.
Rich Dodson has been fielding competitive sportsman cars for the past nine years and has had success with his sportsman team, However, with the move to Big Block, he has no plans to field a Sportsman car this year.
“Right now, we are focused on getting everything ready for a run at the Malta Big Block track championship,” he said. “We’re really excited to have Willy at the wheel”
