Small Blocks, Sportsman & Street Stocks Set To Rock At Orange County This Saturday
Story By: JOHN SNYDER / ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY – MIDDLETOWN, NY – Comin’ at you full bore! On Saturday, May 15, Orange County Fair Speedway presents a thrilling night of high-speed racing action on the historic five-eighths-mile clay oval headlining the super-fast H.O. Penn CAT Small-Block Modifieds racing in a series of qualifying events that lead to their 25-lap feature race paying $2,200-to-win.
In addition to the Small-Block Modifieds will be the slightly less powerful Arkel Motors Sportsman division also competing in qualifying races and a 20-lap feature race. To round out the program, the full-bodied, full-fenders NAPA Northeast Parts Group Street Stocks will slug it out in a 15-lap main race. The entire evening’s racing program is presented by Escape Powersports Plus and H.O. Penn CAT.
In each racing division, drivers are eligible for the Wicked Truck Worx Back-to-Back Bonus, which awards cash bonuses to drivers who register consecutive victories. The Small-Block Modified back-to-back winner will go home with an additional $300, for the Sportsman repeat victor it’s $200, and should Bobby Sleight Jr. repeat his April 17 Street Stock win, he’ll earn an additional $100. Eligible drivers in the Small-Block Modified and Sportsman division will be the winners from the May 8 racing program.
With New York COVID-19 restrictions being eased, more seats in the Orange County stands are available. And the famous 31st Lap Tavern is open! Fans may also choose to enjoy the races from the unique Orange County Drive-In section. General admission is $20 adults, $16 seniors, and free for children 12 and under. As a convenience, guaranteed Drive-In parking spaces in Rows D, E, and F may be reserved for $15. Unsold spaces in these rows will be available at the gate on race day.
