Small Block Modifieds Headline Racing Once Again At Orange County Saturday Night

Story By: JOHN SNYDER / ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY – MIDDLETOWN, NY – Orange County Fair Speedway is proud to be a member of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, and in recognition the May 22 racing program has been name Orange County Chamber of Commerce Night.

Headlining the three division program will be the H.O. Penn Cat Small-Block Modifieds competing in qualifying races that lead to a 30-lap feature race paying $2,200-to-win. While every driver will be out to secure the victory, should John Lieto repeat his May 15 win, he’ll take home an extra $300 from the Wicked Truck Worx Back-To-Back Bonus.

Joining the Small-Block Modifieds will be the Arkel Motors Sportsman division drivers, whose qualifying races determine the starting lineup for their 20-lap feature race. The Wicked Truck Worx Back-to-Back Bonus will also be in effect for the Sportsman competitors with $200 slated for Jeff Hulseapple, the May 15 victor, in extra prize money for a repeat win. And to round out the evening, the Precision Hydraulic & Oil Rookie Sportsman drivers have a 15-lap race in their fourth of six outings leading to “graduation” night and full Sportsman competition.

Orange County Fair Speedway will continue to follow CDC and New York State COVID-19 restrictions that remain in effect. Fans may choose to enjoy the races either from the stands or the unique Orange County Drive-In section. General admission either for the stands or the Drive-In is $20 adult, $16 seniors, and free for children 12 and under. As a convenience for fans, guaranteed parking spaces in Rows D, E, and F of the Drive-In may be reserved for $15. Unsold spaces in these rows will be available at the gate on race day. In the Drive-In, announcements and race calls are heard over FM 107.7. Fans may purchase tickets by calling the Speedway Office at 845-342-2573. Spectator gates will open at 4:00 pm. Prepaid 2020 Season Tickets will be honored. Hot Laps at 6:00 pm, racing at 7:00 pm. The 31st Lap Tavern is open for adult beverages.

For competitors: Transponders and one-way radios are mandatory. Fire suppression equipment is required for all open wheel divisions (Big-Block Modified, Small-Block Modified, Sportsman, and Rookie Sportsman) and strongly recommended for Street Stocks. Street Stocks must have fire extinguisher. Pit passes are $25 for members, $35 non-members. Pit gate opens at 3:00pm
