McLaughlin Scores Third-Straight Podium In Big Block Competition At Bridgeport’s Super DIRTcar Series Event

Story By: TYLER WALKER / MAX MCLAUGHLIN RACING – MOORESVILLE, NC – In 2019, Max McLaughlin stepped away from full-time Dirt Big-Block Modified racing to continue his pursuit in the NASCAR ranks.

After a successful run with Hattori Racing Enterprises in limited ARCA & K&N Pro Series starts which included an ARCA win at the famed road course at Watkins Glen International Speedway, he is back on the dirt scene as if he never left.

In 2021, Max returned to a full-time dirt schedule starting in Florida with the Sunshine Swing & the Gator DIRTcar Nationals where he brought home a win and the coveted Big Gator Championship trophy. Since his return to the Dirt, “Mad Max” has 17 starts, with 1 win, 10 top 5’s, and 14 top 10’s.

McLaughlin has teamed up for a full assault in DIRTcar sanctioned events with Coffey McCreadie Enterprises and long-time car owner Carl Myers after a successful OktoberFAST in 2020 where he won at Weedsport Speedway.

Since the final night at the #BristolThrowdown at Bristol Motor Speedway in April, Max has been very consistent with 3 straight 3rd place finishes. Beginning on the final night at Bristol, the team picked up a 3rd place finish, then moved onto Orange County Fair Speedway this past Saturday with a 3rd and lastly the Super DIRTcar Series race Bridgeport Speedway’s King of The Big Block’s 100 Tuesday evening after leading early he ultimately ended up 3rd behind Tim Fuller and Stewart Friesen.

Max said following the race at Bridgeport “We were right there, we went with a softer compound, and it hurt us, we were good early but when it counted, I didn’t have anything left. Congratulations to Tim Fuller and the entire St. Lawrence Radiology camp. They were in another area code tonight. I can’t thank these guys on this Coffey-McCreadie Enterprises team enough. First of all for believing in my ability to be upfront and secondly for this equipment.”

When asked what he needed to be there at the end, he simply stated, “a Harder Right Rear Hoosier.”

Max will be in action this weekend for the first time behind the wheel of an Asphalt SuperModified owned by Jason Simmons Racing at the famed “Steel Palace” Oswego Speedway.
