It’s Money In The Mountains Night This Friday At Big Diamond Speedway

Story By: BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY – MINERSVILLE, PA – This Friday, April 16th, Jake and Jasmine Smulley along with Tony’s Meat Market present the annual Money in the Mountains race for the Insigner Performance modifieds.

This Money in the Mountains race has been a staple of the Big Diamond schedule since 2013. Friday’s MITM race will be the eighth time the race has been run. Previous MITM race winners include Ryan Watt (2015 & 2017) who remains the only driver to win the race more than once, Jeff Strunk (2013), Ryan Godown (2014), Rick Laubach (2016), Duane Howard (2018) and Craig Von Dohren (2019). Last year’s MITM race was not run due to the late start of the season.

This year’s MITM race will be feature a 40-lap race with $5,000 going to the winner. The competition is tough this season in the modified division at Big Diamond and the extra money being offered this week will be extra incentive to get up on the wheel and go for the big bucks.

Dirttrackdigest.TV will also be sponsoring a Modified “Dash for Cash” with $400 going to the winner and $50 for the other participants courtesy of the good folks at Dirttrackdigest.TV where you can watch all the action at Big Diamond Speedway via pay-per-view every Friday if you cannot make it to the track.

Friday’s race will be 40 laps in distance with $5,000 going to the winner. The rules have changed up this year with only PA spec head 358 motors and big block motors being allowed.

MITM Rules:

  • PA Spec Head Motor on Gas – 2.275 LBS
  • PA Spec Head Motor on Alcohol – 2,350 LBS
  • Big Blocks – 2,500 LBS
  • NO OPEN SMALL BLOCKS
  • Standard Body Rules, no Sail Panels

This will be a draw race for the Modifieds only with 50 show-up points being given out to each car.

The USS Achey Sportsman along with the Savage 61 Crate 602 Sportsman and the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunners will also be in action on Friday night.

The Pit gate will open at 5:00 PM, Grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM

Warmups begin at 7:15 PM with racing getting underway at 7:45 PM

General admission for Friday night will be $25, Kids 11-12 are $10 with Kids 10 and under admitted free. Active Military with valid ID are free.
