Modified Triple 20’s Sweep Worth $8,500 To Close Out Thunder On The Hill Season

Story By: BOB MILLER / THUNDER ON THE HILL – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – A possible $8,500 payday awaits any modified driver who can pull off a sweep of the Trick or Treat Triple 20’s in the Thunder on the Hill season finale at the Grandview Speedway Saturday night, October 17.

Each Modified feature will pay $2,000 to the winner and with thanks to Pioneer Pole Buildings, a $2,500 bonus is posted to any driver who can sweep the three features. If one driver wins two features, PPB will add an additional $500 in bonus money. Each feature offers an attractive payoff with $200 being paid to start. As in past years, this October event will allow both Big Block and 358 Modifieds to compete together in a unique rules package. Also on the program will be the sportsman competing in a series of qualifying events leading up to a $1,300 win 20 lap feature.

On race night, Saturday, October 17, the front gate will open at 4 PM with qualifying getting underway at 6:00 PM. The pit gate will open at 2:30 PM.

Qualifying for the Modifieds will determine the starting field with the top 12 finishers from the heat race events, drawing the top 12 starting positions in the opening feature. The winner of the first and second feature will then draw an invert number of 8, 10 or 12. This makes a sweep of the Pioneer Pole Buildings $2,500 bonus extremely possible.

A special rules package is offered as a ‘treat’ to the region’s competitors, with both American Racer and Hoosier tires allowed for competition, and either Big-Block or Spec Small-Block engines permitted. For the Saturday, October 17 event, adult admission tickets are $25, Children 6 to 11 are $10, Children 5 and under will be admitted free. The pit fee is $40, and a license is not required.

Advance tickets orders can be processed up to the day before the race. We apologize, but advance tickets will NOT be available on race day. You may pick-up and pay for your tickets on race night at 3:30 PM and enter the grandstands immediately.
