‘Double-Down Challenge’ Up For Grabs For Short Track Super Series August Sweep
Story By: BRETT DEYO / SHORT TRACK SUPER SERIES – DELMAR, DE – The month of August is lucrative for the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco in Delaware.
And it just got even better.
Stockley Tavern, located just south of Georgetown Speedway on Route 113, has issued the ‘Delaware Double-Down’ Challenge. The challenge applies to the upcoming STSS Modified Hurlock Auto & Speed ‘Diamond State 50’ at Delaware International Speedway Tuesday, Aug. 11 and the ‘Blast at the Beach’ at Georgetown Speedway Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Should one driver sweep the ‘Diamond State 50’ and ‘Blast at the Beach’ feature events with back-to-back victories, that competitor will receive a cash bonus of $2,000!
If a single driver is not able to win both events, the driver with the best average finish between the two races will take home $1,000. The tiebreaker will be the finishing order of the ‘Blast at the Beach’ event at Georgetown.
“This is a lucrative incentive program tying together our two August events in the state of Delaware,” STSS promoter Brett Deyo said. “Linking the events together will only create more excitement for the fans and provide another avenue to cash in for our racers.”
Stockley Tavern is your neighborhood bar and package store for nearly 70 years offering the “coldest beer in town” and a delicious menu. The newly renovated package store features walk-in coolers stocked with domestic, import and micro-brewed beers in addition to wines and spirits.
