URC Sprints & 358-Modifieds Headline Friday Action At Big Diamond Speedway
Story By: KENNETH BRUCE / BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY – MINERSVILLE, PA – The might winged warriors of the United Racing Club will make the second and final appearance of 2019 this Friday June 21st at the speedway as part of Red, White & Blue Auto’s night. The last time the high flying 360 ci sprint cars made their way onto the speedway it was Austin Bishop taking the checkered flag in a very competitive feature event.
After a few weeks of special events, the Insigner Performance modifieds will be running a normal 25-lap feature event for the first time in week’s under regular track rules. This will be the last night the teams will draw for starting spots as handicapping will start to take place at the next scheduled event. Craig Von Dohren leads the way so far in 2019 with two victories and is also leading the way in the chase for the 2019 points title.
The Savage 61 Road Runners will be back in action this Friday with last week’s winner Shon Elk looking to make it two in a row in the division. The Road Runners will run a 20-lap main event and as always will provide some exciting door banging action.
Back this Friday are the Central PA Legends for the second appearance of the year. The last time the Legends were in town brought some exciting on track racing and no doubt the fans will see some of the same this Friday night.
*The USS Achey Sportsman along with the Eash’s Towing & Recovery Street Stocks will have the night off this Friday.
General admission for Friday night is $22 for adults, $20 for Seniors, $10 for kids ages 11 & 12. Kids 10 and under are free as are active military with proper ID.
Gates will open this Friday at 5:30pm with warmups hitting the track at 7:15pm. Racing will start at 7:45pm.
