RPW Exclusive: John Waters Racing Set To Compete For First Time In 2019

Story By: ROBERT SYMONDS / RPW – WHITESVILLE, NY – The 2016 RUSH Late Model Series Champion returns to the Speedway for the first time in 2019 with this years RUSH Late Model Series Marquee Event at the Outlaw Speedway.

The Gary Montgomery Memorial has proved to be a strong event in the past for the TroupsCreek Heating and Auto Parts, Little Power Shop number 11. In both 2017 and 2018, John Waters delivered results quick and early on. Waters qualified in the top 2 for time trials in both years, most notably setting a New Track Record in 2018 with a 15.276 second lap time around the 4/10th mile clay oval.

Waters also proved to be unbeatable in qualifying heat races winning both heat races in the past 2 years for this marquee event on the RUSH Late Model Tour. Last year for the feature event, Waters came up through early battling just outside the top 3, however a late race restart would put Waters back to a 6th place finishing spot.

This year, Waters plans on running events locally. With a lot of RUSH Racing events locally, the John Waters Racing team plans on running quite a few events. This week, Waters will be running Outlaw Speedway on Friday Night, Genesee Speedway Saturday, and Eriez Speedway on Sunday. All of these events are coincidentally Marquee events for the RUSH Late Model Series Tour.
