Cory Haas Secures Top-Ten Finish During Williams Grove’s Season Opener

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TRONE OUTDOOR MOTORSPORTS – YORK, PA – After making a last minute decision to bypass the annual Icebreaker at Lincoln Speedway, Cory Haas and Trone Outdoor Motorsports finally activated their 2019 campaign and completed a Central Pennsylvania doubleheader on Saturday and Saturday, March 16 & 17.

Although a bit rusty after a near-five month hiatus, Haas and Trone displayed consistency and perseverance during their opening weekend of competition, ultimately wrapping up their two-day sweep through south-central Pennsylvania with a 12th place performance at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, followed by a tenth place finish, a product from row seven, during the Williams Grove Speedway season opener on Sunday.

In actuality, Haas was battling within the top-ten at Lincoln before settling for his 12th place finish. A decision to utilize the bottom groove proved to be a poor one for Haas, ultimately losing several positions before transferring his momentum back to the top of the speedway.

“The track was pretty good at Williams Grove Speedway on Sunday. We had a few opportunities during restarts to capitalize, but they really didn’t go our way. At Lincoln, we tried to make the bottom work, but we ended up getting stuck down there and lost a few spots,” Cory Haas explained, driver of the Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Trone Outdoor Advertising/Old Republic Distillery/Creekside Auto Sales/No. 39 sprint car. “Regardless, it feels good to be back in a sprint car. I can’t thank John Trone enough for the opportunity to come out here and do this again. We are working toward a big year. I’m excited to keep things going.”

Cory Haas and Trone Outdoor Motorsports will continue their 2019 campaign with repeat visits to Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway on Friday and Saturday, March 22 & 23, respectively.
