Logan Wagner And The Zemco Team Looking Forward To The 2019 Season

Story By: JOE BURRAGE / ZEMCO RACING – TOWER CITY, PA – The 2018 Sprint Car Season was a good one for Logan Wagner and the Zemco Team.

Wagner was able to pick up two feature wins at the Port Royal Speedway and he also captured his first ever Track Championship driving the famous Zemco Headers sprint car owned by John and PeeWee Zemaitis. Wagner and the entire Zemco Team will be back together again in 2019 as they look to defend the 2018 Track Championship.

“It was a great season for us, we started off slow but we really started to get things moving in the right direction after the first month of the season,” said Wagner. “John and PeeWee Zemaitis have been involved in sprint car racing for a long time, it was an honor to drive for them and I am really excited to drive for them again in 2019. We have a great team here and we were really getting dialed in as the season concluded but we picked up two feature wins and more important we were consistent all season. Our Crew Chief Tommy Carl always has this car ready for race day, I am very anxious for the 2019 season.”

The 30th Anniversary Season was good for the Zemco Team and Logan Wagner was able to secure the team’s third Track Championship. Mark Smith and Lucas Wolfe were the two previous drivers to win Track Championships at the Port Royal Speedway and now Logan Wagner joins them.

“Sprint car racing is tough, and the competition is super competitive every week because everyone wants to win and everyone has really good equipment,” said Wagner. “I really believe in this team. John and PeeWee are excellent car owners that have raced for a long time and truly understand what it takes to have a competitive car that can compete not just in Central Pennsylvania but anywhere we unload. Confidence also plays a huge part as well. Tommy Carl is one of the best wrenches in the business and our crew works hard to make my job look easy. I would love to win back to back Championships but there will be a lot of hungry race teams out there looking for the same thing we are, so we’re going to regroup this winter and make sure we are ready for the 2019 season.”

The Zemco Sprint Car Team also wants to take the time to thank all of the fans that supported us over the past 30 years. We have met some wonderful people during this time and we look forward to seeing everyone at the track again in 2019. From our family to yours we hope everyone has a happy and safe new year. See you all very soon.
