Big Night Of Racing This Coming Friday At Big Diamond Speedway

Story By: KENNETH BRUCE / BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY – MINERSVILLE, PA – Schuylkill Career & Technology Center with three locations in Schuylkill County will be the presenting sponsor of this week’s program at the Big Diamond Speedway. This Friday’s program will consist of the track’s four weekly divisions along with a 50-Lap enduro race.

The mighty Mattera’s General and Electrical Contracting 358 Modifieds will headline the night’s festivities with a 25-Lap feature event. Ryan Godown currently leads the chase for the track championship with Duane Howard and Craig Von Dohren waiting close behind in the wings should the “Ringoes Rocket” make a mistake. Von Dohren and Godown split last Friday’s twin twenties and both will be looking to add to their win totals.

After winning last Friday’s main event in the USS Achey Sportsman division, rookie Alex Yankowksi will be back in action looking to solidify his spot at the top of the Sportsman standings while looking forward to dialing his car in for the July 27th Sportsman Summer Classic paying a whopping $5000 to win courtesy of Leindecker Race Engines. Yankowski will have his work cut out for him with veterans Craig Whitmoyer, Doug Hendricks and a host of other all looking to cut into the youngster’s title hopes.

The Road Runner division sponsored by Savage 61 will be in action as well on Friday. The Road Runners put on some tremendous action throughout their 20-lap main event as they race door handle to door handle always putting on a show for the fans. Mike Reichert is the current points leader with Kris Ney not far behind in the chase for the title.

The No Sweat Service Group Street Stocks return to action this Friday after a week off. Chris Heller will be looking to extend his lead over Mike Radocha in the battle for this season’s title. With the week off the Street Stocks will be primed for action this Friday night looking to thrill the crowd with their side by side, fender banging action.

The nightcap of the evening will be the 50-Lap Enduro event.

Pits gates open at 5:30 with racing getting underway at 8:00pm. Warmups will get underway at 7:30pm.

General admission for this Friday is $15, Seniors admission is $13, Kids 11-12 $10, with kids 10 and under free. As always, active military with ID are free
