The low pressure responsible for the severe weather is slowly pulling away. A strong northwest flow will keep it windy and cool today. We will see the chance for scattered showers. Father’s Day Weekend, is looking overall quite nice. The northern jet will be dipping into the Northeast. Saturday will become quite warm, but the jet will keep humidity levels under control for Saturday. Sunday this high pressure will move east, allowing for a southwesterly flow that will bring in the warmth and humidity. Saturday into Sunday will feature the chance for a few scattered showers and summertime thunderstorms. Later Sunday into Sunday night a cold front will start drifting south. Ahead of this cold front showers and storms could break out across far northern New York and northern New England.

Monday, as the cold front moves into this hazy, hot and humid air mass, showers and thunderstorms will break out. Some of these thunderstorms should be on the strong/severe side, with gusty winds, hail, heavy downpours, and frequent lightning.
Over New York State and New England there could be trailing showers and storms on Tuesday. But, temperatures and dewpoints will be dropping Tuesday and Wednesday. Those in the Middle Atlantic will see the heat and humidity hold on for Tuesday into Wednesday as the cold front settles into the area.
