The Weather Forecast For Upstate New York This Weekend (May 4-6)

Forecast By: REBECCA LADD / RPW – METEOROLOGIST – Here is the upcoming forecast for this weekend near Upstate New York, so you can plan accordingly.

Friday:

We have another warm, muggy day for our Friday, temperatures inland will be in the mid 80’s, a bit cooler along the coast. We will see low pressure move out of the Great Lakes region and move across southern Quebec. This will bring us some more rainfall developing Friday afternoon and continuing into Friday night before winding down late. As a cold front approaches our thunderstorm chances increase.

Again, The storm prediction Center has us at the risk for strong to scattered severe storms are possible this afternoon into this Friday night with torrential rain and damaging wind gusts the greatest danger. Those in northern New York State and Northern New England will see the greatest chance of any severe weather.

Saturday:

The cold front will be to our east and south, where it will stall . Higher pressure will build in with a drier air mass. Temperatures will be seasonable daytime highs will be in the upper 60 to mid 70’s. That northwest breeze will drive the humidity out of here. The weather will be great for any outdoor activities you have planed.

Sunday:

Sunday will start out with some sunshine. But we will see an area of low pressure moving along that stalled front. This will bring some showers during the afternoon into Sunday night.
