Brent Marks To Visit Port Royal For Weikert Memorial Between WoO Sprint Commitments

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRENT MARKS RACING – MYERSTOWN, PA – With Mother Nature earning the sweep in Central Pennsylvania and New Jersey during the recent week, knocking out a combined total of four events at Lincoln Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, and Bridgeport Speedway between May 16 and May 22, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks will now look ahead and begin preparations for a four-race stretch across three states.

Two of the four upcoming starts will be contested during World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series competition, with the remaining two during non-sanctioned competition, planning to enter the annual Bob Weikert Memorial at the Port Royal “Speed Palace.”

“It fits perfectly into our schedule. It’s not a short trip back from Charlotte, but it will be great to race in front of our family and friends, especially since our last few attempts in Pennsylvania got washed out,” Brent Marks said of the Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway. “Many of our partners will have the opportunity to come to Port Royal and watch us compete. We’ve been successful at Port Royal Speedway during prior seasons. I’m confident we’ll make our fans proud and put on a great display this weekend.”

Marks, a second-year, full-time traveler with the Greatest Show On Dirt aboard his Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car, will battle for a grand total of $15,000 during his two-day visit to Port Royal Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, May 26-27; $5,000 on Saturday and $10,000 on Sunday. The nearby Myerstown, Pa., native is a former Port Royal Speedway winner, actually sweeping Tuscarora 50 weekend with the All Star Circuit of Champions in 2015.

Kicking-off his long, holiday weekend with a visit below the Mason-Dixon, Marks will continue his 2018 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series campaign with a stop at The Dirt Track at Charlotte (N.C.) on Friday, May 25, followed by a visit to Lawrenceburg (Ind.) Speedway on Monday, May 28. Marks will enter the weekend with six World of Outlaws top-ten finishes on the season.
