Merrittville “Adopts” Sponsor For Modified Lite Division For 2018
Story By: JIM IRVINE / MERRITTVILLE SPEEDWAY – THOROLD, ONT – April is Pet Appreciation Month at Vansickle Pet Valu – highlighted by a Pet Adoption Event from April 20th to 22nd.
April also means that the 2018 Racing Season is here and Vansickle Pet Valu has adopted Merrittville Speedway’s Modified Lites as new Division Sponsor. Along with Groomingdale’s, the west St. Catharines Pet Experts have supported the Enduro Series for a number of years, a relationship that will continue.
“Vansickle Pet Valu is all about fun times and great experiences with our pets,” said franchisee Jeff Riley, “coming from a karting background with my son Alex … I’ve seen over the years how many Tuesday Night racers graduate to Mod Lites. I’m excited to help out and continue creating the fun times and great experiences.”
“Racing has become a pet project for Jeff and his family,” said Merrittville Speedway owner Don Spiece, “he has a passion for the sport … supporting our events in addition to his son Alex and other drivers. A Big Thank You to him for all he does for the sport!”

“Due to some unforeseen circumstances,” adds Riley, “we are sad to say that our 4th Annual BARK Adoption Event has been temporarily postponed until further notice. This year you can create a forever home for dogs with the support of the Welland & District Humane Society and other organization.”
Vansickle Pet Valu’s Pet Appreciation Month will be celebrated with all of the fan fair and excitement including a fundraising BBQ, demonstrations, vendors and more.

The Vansickle Pet Valu & Groomingdale’s Modified Lite Division will join the first Bobcat of Hamilton Weekly Racing Series Event on Loop Paint Night Saturday April 28th that will also feature the S&W Service Centre 358 Modified, David Chevrolet Sportsman, Hoosier Stock, Central Fabricating & Welding 4 Cylinder and Dave’s Auto and Speed Centre V6 Divisions.
