NEMA Midget Schedule Released For 2018

Column By: MATTHEW WIERNASZ / RPW – MARLBOROUGH, MA – The 2018 NEMA Schedule for the Midgets and the Lites was revealed this past weekend.

The Lites will kickoff their 2018 season at the Icebreaker on Saturday, April 7. The Midgets will kickoff their 2018 campaign at the New London-Waterford Speedway on Saturday, May 4.

The Lites will head to Star Speedway on Saturday, May 19. The Midgets and Lites will kickoff the month of June at the Wiscasset Speedway in Maine on Saturday June 2. The Allan Cantor Memorial will be held for NEMA at the Riverhead Raceway down in Long Island on Saturday, June 9. The Lites will race four days later at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on Wednesday, June 13. The Butch Walsh Memorial for NEMA will happen at Star Speedway on Saturday, June 16. The Boston Louie Memorial will happen on Open Wheel Wednesday at Seekonk Speedway on Wednesday, June 27.

NEMA will kickoff the month of July with the Iron Mike Scrivani Memorial Race at Monadnock Speedway on Saturday, July 14 and then head to Star Speedway for the Marvin Richin Memorial on Saturday, July 21. The Lites will have the Jim O’Brien Memorial at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl for a 50 lap race on Saturday, July 28.

The Midgets will head to Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on Wednesday, August 8. The Angelillo Memorial will happen at Wings & Wheels with both series at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday, August 11.

The Lites will kickoff the month of September at Star Speedway on Saturday, September 1. Both series will head back to Maine at Wiscasset Speedway on Saturday, September 8 for an extra distance event.

Both the Midgets and the Lites will be apart of an open wheel event with the Valenti Modified Racing Series at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday, September 15.

The Shane Hammond Memorial will happen at the 56th annual Sunoco World Series Of Racing at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park with the Midgets racing on Saturday, October 13 and the Lites on Sunday, October 14.

NEMA will crown their champions at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl on Saturday, October 20 and Sunday, October 21.
