Bobby Pierce To Race For Dunn-Benson Motorsports LM Team In 2018

Column By: ROBERT SYMONDS / RPW – DUNN, NC – Announced just over a couple weeks ago on November 15th, Dunn-Benson Motorsports and Earl Pearson Jr would part ways. Pearson notified owners Carlton and Kemp Lamm that 2017 was his final season driving the number 1 Dunn-Benson late model. Keeping fans on their toes, Dunn-Benson Motorsports posted on social media that plans for 2018 would indeed arrive soon.

Shortly after 12pm EST yesterday, Dunn-Benson Motorsports released an article detailing their plans for the 2018 race season. New sponsors were announced in support of Dunn-Benson Motorsport’s new driver, Bobby Pierce. The 21 year old from Oakwood Illinois, had been a star in racing since he started driving at the age of 8.

Since his time in the super late models, Pierce has already racked up more achievements than other drivers could achieve in their lifetime. With over 150 career feature wins, 3 consecutive UMP DirtCar Championships, and 3 consecutive Summer Nationals Hell Tour Championships, Bobby Pierce and his family look ahead to Bobby’s time with Dunn-Benson Motorsports.

“We think it’s a great opportunity and experience for me,” Bobby Pierce stated Thursday evening. “They want what’s best for me. My dad will still be part time crew chief at the track, plus he is a Rocket late model dealer as well as building cars.”

As of right now, Dunn-Benson isn’t dedicated to a touring series or specific events for 2018 which could be announced as more schedules continue to be posted.

For race fans, the “Smooth Operator” assured them of one thing for 2018. “We will still be racing a lot. We plan on running a touring series but unsure as of yet. Dunn-Benson and I are discussing it now.”

Pierce also went on to say “Dunn-Benson is a very good team with resources. It’s cool to merge the two teams and become stronger.”
