Zearfoss Short At Port Royal; Open Wheel Madness Next
Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BROCK ZEARFOSS RACING – JONESTOWN, PA – Unfortunately for Brock Zearfoss, his battle with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at Port Royal Speedway ended sooner than expected; three laps sooner than expected.
While battling near the front of the running order, Zearfoss ran out of fuel, surrendering any opportunity for a second World of Outlaws victory. The “Jonestown Jet” beat the Outlaws at Williams Grove Speedway in mid-July.
“Not how we wanted things to go, especially after leading the first 17 laps. I think this could have been prevented, but it is what it is. We’ll move on and try again next weekend when we return to Port Royal,” a disappointed Zearfoss explained, pilot of Brock Zearfoss Racing/Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill/Meckley’s Limestone/Central Builders Supply Co./Berkebile Oil Company/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/No. 3Z.
The recently crowned Port Royal Speedway track champion will visit the “Speed Palace” one final time in 2017, this time for Open Wheel Madness on October 21 featuring three divisions of sprint cars. Zearfoss will enter two of the three programs; the 410 sprint car portion of the program, as well as the URC portion of the program, a combined winner’s share equaling $6,000.
