Skora Looking To Add Name To RoC Asphalt Modified Win List

Story By: RACE OF CHAMPIONS – OSWEGO, NY – After leading a majority of the series most recent race at Lancaster National Speedway, George Skora, III of Eden, N.Y., is looking to join Bryan Sherwood of Binghamton, N.Y., and Tyler Rypkema of Owego, N.Y., as a new winner in Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series. Skora has been knocking on the door throughout the season and is looking to walk through.

“We were in a good spot at Lancaster,” offered Skora. “But, we had a part failure and it took us away. Our team has been giving me a great car and I don’t think it will be any different when we get to Oswego this Saturday. I want to win in this Series and more. It’s been a very competitive year with Bryan (Sherwood) and Tyler (Rypkema) getting their first wins. There are a few more of us looking to add our names to that list and I hope I can do so, maybe even as soon as Saturday at Oswego.”

Skora and the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series will be in competition this Saturday at the legendary Oswego Speedway in a 67-lap race.

“Oswego is always challenging,” explained Skora. “You’ve got to be up on the wheel, get the breaks and earn it. Bryan Sherwood did a great job in May and we’re hoping we can have that kind of day Saturday.”

The pit gates open at the Steel Palace at 12:30pm with front gates opening and practice beginning at 2:00pm. Qualifying goes off at 5:00pm with feature racing to follow.
