Amy Catalano Receives First Ever FOAR Score Race Of Champions Perseverance Award

MORRIS, NY – Officers from the FOAR Score (Friends of Auto-Racing) Fan Club and Race of Champions Series management presented Amy Catalano of Ontario, N.Y., with the first-ever FOAR Score Race of Champions Perseverance Award at the 2017 Race of Champions Season Celebration at the Genesee River Restaurant and Reception in Mount Morris, N.Y.

Catalano, who competes and is one of the most popular drivers in the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified and Sportsman Series, went through treatments and a surgery this season while not missing an event.

Catalano received a trophy recognizing the award, while FOAR Score and the Race of Champions donated $500 to the Elizabeth Wende Breast Care Fund in Amy Catalano’s name to assist in continuing to raise breast cancer awareness as well as assist in achieving better outcomes for patients through research and education.

Catalano, who is Mother to five boys, Tommy, Timmy, Trevor, Tyler and Troyer, who all race and is married to husband / crew chief Dave, finished 12th in the 2017 championship standings and was a patient at Elizabeth Wende Breast Care in Rochester, N.Y.

“Racing is what we do as a family,” offered an emotional Catalano. “Quitting is not an option in our family and that is how we work through this. It is an honor to win this award and we are looking forward to a good season.”

Throughout the 2017 season, Race of Champions management and the FOAR Score Fan worked together to bring FOAR Score members to each of the Series races and will continue the program throughout 2018.
