McFadden / Highlands Team Shake Things Down At Port Royal

Story By: ANTHONY CORINI / JAMES MCFADDEN RACING – PORT ROYAL, PA – The long awaited return of Australian fan favorite James McFadden to the Highlands Tire #3 was delayed an extra night thanks to Mother Nature forcing Williams Grove to cancel. The duo made their first start of the season Saturday night at Port Royal, survived an opening lap melee, and finished seventh in the feature from 16th.

“We weren’t that good to be honest. A couple of mechanical issues and some driver errors,” McFadden said. McFadden is coming off a career year back home in Australia. McFadden did not disappoint in his first year driving the famous Monte Motorsports #W17 capturing the World Series of Sprint Cars Title, as well as scoring his first career Grand Annual Sprint Car Classic win in January.

Now stateside, McFadden and Highlands have teamed up once again and plan to run a similar schedule they did last summer. “If things go well, we are planning on running all of Speedweek,” McFadden said in anticipation of the 10 race in 10 nights series.

The team is planning on once again competing at the Kings Royal, Ironman 55 and Knoxville Nationals this summer.
