Albany-Saratoga Rains Out; Patriots Moved To July 7th

Story By: MATT KEITH / ALBANY-SARATOGA SPEEDWAY – MALTA, NY – All-day rain forced the postponement of the racing action at Albany-Saratoga Speedway. As a result, the Patriot Sprints will return on Friday, July 7.

With the rainout, it means Friday, June 2, will be a big night at the historic Malta oval. The King of the Dirt (KOD) Pro Stock Series will headline the program along with the Sowle Trailer Repair (STR) Sportsman Series. All other divisions will be in action along with the 4-Cylinder Division.

It will also be New York State Stock Car Association (NYSSCA) night at the speedway. NYSSCA is a group of racers dedicated to making our sport better,” said track promoter Lyle DeVore, “…and we look forward to their participation on Friday night.”

Originally created as “sounding boards” for area racers to voice opinions and to effect change at local speedway the organization also presents contingency awards for drivers in all divisions on NYSSCA night. Membership in NYSSCA is open to everyone—fans, officials, crew members, and drivers and enrollment forms will be available on Friday night if interested.

Pit gates will open on Friday at 4 p.m. and the grandstand gate will open at 5 p.m. Racing begins at 7pm. General admission is just $10 for adults and $2 for kids 11 and under.
