Story By: ANTHONY CORINI / QUACKENBUSH RACING – NEPTUNE CITY, NJ – In just their second night together, Kyle Reinhardt and the Capitol Renegade #91 team have shown that they can compete at the highest level on the ultra competitive Central Pennsylvania tour. Sunday night at Susquehanna Speedway Park, Reinhardt charged from 7th in his heat race to 3rd, which was good enough for the redraw. Reinhardt drew the pole and set a torrid pace for the first 5 laps before a caution erased his nearly two-second advantage.

SSP used “double-file” restarts all evening, which meant Reinhardt would have to be side-by-side with second place rather than the traditional single-file. Unfortunately, that is where Reinhardt’s night ended. Contact with another competitor sent the Wayne Quackenbush owned #91 for a wild ride. Kyle walked away from the incident, but the same could not be said from the car as the chassis took severe damage.

It was a frustrating end and left many think ‘what if’. Positively speaking, 23-year old Kyle Reinhardt has proved once again that he is one of the most talented, under the radar regional drivers. “We obviously had a good car and I wanted to get these guys a good finish. I think we had a car that could have won,” an understandably disappointed Reinhardt. “I can’t thank the Quackenbush’s enough for this opportunity. I think it will be a great partnership.”

Kyle and his brother, David, will work on the car when David Quackenbush drives it. Quackenbush has moved down to 360’s to get more comfortable and is planning on running a lot of URC races in 2017.

Previously, Reinhardt has been seen in the area with the McLaren Motorsports #21 car, whom have taken a temporary leave from the sport, but even then he was only able to run 10-12 410 races a year because of a tight budget. “I feel like I’ve been able to pick up right where I left off. I feel solid in the car and ready to go,” said Reinhardt. The schedule for the #91 is far from set in stone, especially now that they have to rebuild a car and as URC races begin to pick up, there is no set date for the 410 car to return to the track.

One thing is for certain; it’s a good partnership. The Reinhardt boys provide extensive dirt track experience to a team that previously only had experience on pavement and the Quackenbush’s provide a quality car on a nightly basis. The sport needs more car owners and Wayne Quackenbush is one of the elite personalities in the pit area.

Wayne was quick to thank Capitol Renegade, Capitol Custom Trailers as well as Capitol Cadillac and Capitol Buick GMC for helping get the #91 to the track. Reinhardt couldn’t be more appreciative of his brother, Dave Reinhardt, for turning the wrenches as well as his parents and Brian Carber for their continued support of his racing endeavors.
