Story By: TAMMY WYNNE / SHELLHAMMERS SPEEDWAY – SHOEMAKERSVILLE, PA – The rains continued to come down Friday and the Cordier Family made the call to postpone this weekends scheduled open practice as well as the first night of Wingless Wednesdays planned for April 8.

After reviewing the entire facility, the grounds would be too wet to not only prepare the track but also provide safe parking for teams and fans. The postponement of the Wednesday race is necessary so that the track has time to be run in properly before turning loose the cars for the first official race night of the season and ensure they are getting not only the best racing surface possible for their opening night, but a safe racing surface as well. The Cordier’s worked on the track during the week with hopes that the Practice Day would go on as planned but Mother Nature is not ready to give up her grasp over the region and stop the sleet, rain and cold weather in order to allow for the 2017 season to get underway.
