Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / BRENT MARKS RACING – MYERSTOWN, PA – Despite Mother Nature washing away all potential for World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series competition in Arkansas and Missouri during the recent weekend, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks still managed to find himself at a race track, this time entering unsanctioned, weekly action at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania, on Saturday evening, April 22.

The decision to travel home to Central Pennsylvania proved to be more than beneficial, as it resulted in Marks’ first victory of the 2017 season, charging forward from the outside of row four. The non-stop, 25-lap main event worth $3,200 was completed in less than eight minutes, ultimately setting a new 25-lap track record at the “Speed Palace” of 7:32.949. Including his recent victory, Marks has been victorious at the Juniata County Fairgrounds on six separate occasions during the last three seasons.

“I think this goes to show that our time on the road has been beneficial to our team. We’ve been planning to come home at some point, but for it to work out like this is just awesome. It’s exciting to come back home and race in front of our Pennsylvania fans. Standing on the Port Royal Speedway victory lane stage never gets old,” Brent Marks explained. “This makes all of us even more excited to come back home to Central Pennsylvania with the World of Outlaws. Hopefully we can repeat tonight’s performance and really give our fans something to be proud of.”

Marks, pilot of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19, will continue his rookie campaign with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, with a Hoosier State doubleheader. The Greatest Show On Dirt will visit the Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, Indiana, to kick-off the weekend slate on Friday night, April 28, followed by a visit to the Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Indiana, on Saturday, April 29.

Brent Marks will enter the weekend 12th in the current World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series championship standings, earning four top-ten finishes on the season including two during his recent visit to the Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas.
