BAPS Motor Speedway Adds 602 Crate Mod “Six Pack” Series To 2021 Schedule

Story By: KALI LANDIS / BAPS MOTOR SPEEDWAY – YORK HAVEN, PA – Modified racing is a part of the rich history that has made BAPS Motor Speedway the racetrack that it is today.

Speedway owner Scott Gobrecht and General Manager Kolten Gouse continue to merge the past with the present to make the York Haven, Pa., facility the best of both worlds.

On Friday, the management team of BAPS Motor Speedway announced that they will hold a 602 Crate Modified Six-Pack Series, which will feature six races throughout the 2021 season. The series will be presented by FXG Sign and Label and Dickey’s Barbeque.

“Modifieds have always had a strong history at BAPS Motor Speedway and over the offseason, we had some sponsors who wanted to bring some of it back in 2021,” Gouse said.

“We are very excited to have FXG Sign and Label and Dickey’s Barbeque step up and sponsor these races. One of the unique things about this series is that the point champion will receive a free 602 crate motor from Pace Performance thanks to FXG Sign and Label, which is pretty cool.”

The winner of each 602 Crate Modified event will receive a minimum of $1,000. The first event will take place April 10 and will feature double start money.

There are a couple of special events in this series. On July 31, the winner will receive $1,250 and $150 to start. It will be a big October for the series, with two-day 602 Modified 30. The winner of the finale will receive $1,500. It will be $225 to start.

“This series gives us a chance to give back to the drivers at the pay window,” Gouse said. “We hope to build this division and make it a part of BAPS Motor Speedway for years to come.”

Marysville Motorcars Super Sportsman Tour Returning In 2021

The Super Sportsman division continues to have a strong presence on the central Pennsylvania dirt-track scene.

Along with being the headline class at BAPS Motor Speedway, Kolten Gouse brought back the Super Sportsman Tour last season, which is comprised of select shows at the flagship track and other facilities in the region.

Thanks to the continued support of Marysville Motor Cars, the Super Sportsman Tour will continue in 2021 with a schedule that includes eight races at three different tracks. Lincoln Speedway and Trail-Way Speedway have also committed to the tour.

“We are happy to bring back the Super Sportsman Tour for another season,” Gouse said. “Marysville Motor Cars has been a long-time supporter of the division and have stepped up to be a part of this series.

“This series helps showcase the Super Sportsman division at other speedways and gives the drivers a chance to get more experience. We are looking forward to another season and growing this tour for years to come.”

Four races on the slate feature bigger paydays for the winner. The Larry Jackson Nationals pays $2,569 to the winner on April 24. The Dellinger’s Auto Body Firecracker 40 features a $2,500 payday on July 3, with the Dirty Deeds Fab Dirty 30 handing out $3,000 to the champion on Sept. 26. The final race of the series is the Gambler’s Race, which pays $2,000-to-win on Oct. 9. All four races will be held at BAPS Motor Speedway.

The first race of the series will also be held at BAPS Motor Speedway on March 27. Lincoln Speedway will hold a pair of events on May 8 and June 19. Trail-Way Speedway will take centerstage on June 12. The point champion after eight races will receive $1,000. The top five in standings will receive point money.
