Weedsport Speedway Champions Challenge Invites Issued To DIRTcar Sportsman Racers
Story By: DAN KAPUSCINSKI / WEEDSPORT SPEEDWAY – WEEDSPORT, NY – A total of 26 DIRTcar Sportsman drivers have been issued invites for the Stirling Lubricants Champions Challenge at Weedsport Speedway on Sunday, September 12, as part of Cavalcade Cup Weekend.
This special DIRTcar Sportsman invitational will run 25-laps, paying $1,000 to win, along with a guaranteed starting position for Weedsport Speedway’s Super DIRT Week special on Wednesday, October 6.
Invites for this Sunday night showdown were issued to the top five drivers in track points from speedways in the Central Region of the DIRTcar Sportsman division; including Brewerton Speedway, Can-Am Speedway, Fulton Speedway, Land of Legends Raceway, Outlaw Speedway, Thunder Mountain Speedway and Weedsport Speedway.
Representing Can-Am Speedway will be Tyler Corcoran, David Rogers, Mike Fowler, Dalton Rombough and Ryan Shanahan.
Land of Legends Raceway invites include Matt Guererri, Zach Payne, Zach Sobotka, Alex Payne and Paul Guererri.
Fulton Speedway will have representation from Matt Janczuk, Chris Mackey, Amy Holland, Wade Christman and Quinn Wallis.
Joining the lineup from Brewerton Speedway will be Alan Fink and Tyler Murray.
Thunder Mountain competitors include Hunter Lapp, Brandon Carvey, Mike Austin and Will Eastman.
Outlaw Speedway contenders will be Ajay Potrzebowski, AJ Loyd, Adam Hilton and Tim Guild.
Brett Senek will also be included in the Champions Challenge from Weedsport Speedway.
The four highest finishers in the Saturday, September 11 Sportsman main event at Weedsport, not already receiving invites, will be added to the Stirling Lubricants Champions Challenge lineup on Sunday.
The Stirling Lubricants Champions Challenge will be a feature only event, with drivers drawing for timed hot lap groups. The 24 fastest drivers will then be entered into a random inversion draw of positions 1-24 by a lucky fan in the stands.

Saturday reserved seating is set at $30 with general admission seating available to those 18 and older for $25. Youth general admission will be set at $10 with kids 10 and under free.
Pit admission for the day is $40 for non-members and $35 for members.
Sunday reserved seating is set at $35 with general admission seating available to those 18 and older for $30. Youth general admission will be set at $15 with kids 10 and under free.
Pit admission for the day is $45 for non-members and $40 for members.
The Super DIRTcar Series Modifieds and DIRTcar Sportsman will compete on each night while the DIRTcar Pro Stocks will join the Saturday card and the ESS Sprints Cars will join Sunday’s program.
