Ryan Lilick Becomes Another First-Time Modified Winner Saturday Night At Grandview
Story By: GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY – BECHTELSVILLE, PA – Coming from 8th starting position in the 30-lap NASCAR T.P.Trailers Modified feature on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway Ryan Lilick became a first time winner.
Brett Kressley and Craig Von Dohren kept their battle for the championship close as Kressley finished second with Von Dohren close behind. The title will be decided next Saturday when Hope Mortgage Team presents Championship Night featuring the final point races of the season. Von Dohren, the defending champion, currently leads the standings.
In the 25-lap feature for T.P.Truck Equipment Sportsman defending champion Brian Hirthler charged to his fifth win of the season. Jimmy Leiby came home second followed by current point leader Kenny Gilmore.
Tommy Kunsman was able to win the 20-lap American Racing Drivers Club Midget feature with Steve Buckwalter grabbing second. Brett Wanner came home third while Kevin Woody and Zach Curtis followed.
Finishing fourth in the Modified feature was Doug Manmiller while Duane Howard grabbed fifth.
Dylan Hoch finished fourth in the Sportsman main event followed by BJ Joly.
Saturday, September 11, 7:30 p.m. Hope Mortgage Team Championship Night for Modifieds and Sportsman- Jeff Strunk, Justin Grim and Lex Shive take part in Meet & Greet. $5,000 in bonus bucks for race winners, hard luck drivers, hard chargers and more. A GREAT FIREWORKS SHOW- Adults $15. Youngsters 11 and under admitted free.
Friday, September 17 7:30 p.m. Freedom38 for Sportsman plus Modifieds practicing. Both nights Gary Balough, winner of hundreds of Modified and Late Model features, will have his most famous race car on display, the Batmobile. He will also be autographing copies of his book, “A Checkered Past: My Story, Gary Balough”.
Saturday, September 18 7 p.m. 51st Annual Freedom 76 for Modifieds paying $30,000 to win—Chapel service has been moved outside of main gate area starting at 2:45 p.m. BRING YOUR BLANKET OR CHAIR. In the first turn pavilion area Pete Knappenberger and his Madie Pearl Band will be entertaining fans from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
