Two Nights Of Racing At Orange County, Including Super DIRTcar Series, During Last Week Of Fair

Story By: JOHN SNYDER / ORANGE COUNTY FAIR SPEEDWAY – MIDDLETOWN, NY – Two nights of racing highlight the final week of the 181st Annual Orange County Fair in Middletown, New York.

On Thursday, July 29, it’s the Super DIRTcar Modified Series Battle of the Midway 100 presented by United Rentals with $10,000 awaiting the winner.

The following evening, Friday, July 30, the Arkel Motors Sportsman and NAPA Northeast Parts Group Street Stocks will excite the fans with their full program of qualifying and feature races. The Friday race meet is sponsored by Tru by Hilton.

Thursday’s Battle of the Midway 100 will pit the traveling cars and stars of the Super DIRTcar Modified Series against the hometown Orange County United Rentals Big-Block Modifieds in an epic 100-lap battle around the five-eighth-mile clay-surfaced speedway. Group time trials and qualifying heat races will set the field for the feature race which, in addition to the lucrative purse, will award the winner a guaranteed starting slot in the October Super DIRT Week 200 at Oswego Speedway.

The Orange County Fair Speedway stands and Drive-In are fully open. For the Thursday race meet, General Admission—which includes Fair admission—either for the stands or the Drive-In is $30 adult, $26 seniors, and free for children 12 and under. Reserved seats are available at $40 all groups. As a convenience for fans, guaranteed parking spaces in Rows D, E, and F of the Drive-In may be reserved for $25. Unsold spaces in these rows will be available at the gate on race day. The Party Deck is available with four seats per table for $150. In the Drive-In, announcements and race calls are heard over FM 107.7. Fans may purchase tickets in advance online or by calling the Speedway Office at 845-342-2573. The Fair with free music, stands, and drive-in open at 4:00 pm on Thursday. Hot Laps at 6:30 pm, racing at 7:00 pm. The 31st Lap Tavern is open for adult beverages. Fair ride tickets may be purchased either singly, or in multi-ride packages.

On Friday, the stands are free with Fair admission. The Fair, including free music, opens at 4:00 pm.

During the fair, parking will be off Carpenter Avenue and entrance to the grounds will be opposite the parking area.
