Stone Beats Stone In Epic 67-Lap Battle At Devil’s Bowl; Justin Stone Wins Legends Night
Information By: JUSTIN ST. LOUIS / DEVIL’S BOWL SPEEDWAY – WEST HAVEN, VT – Justin Stone scored a memorable victory worth $2,500 Saturday night at Devil’s Bowl Speedway.
Stone defeated his father, Todd, on “Legends Night.”
The elder Stone, a three-time champion, had been recognized as part of a ceremony earlier in the evening honoring past champions and star drivers, as had third-place finisher Tim LaDuc.
The race featured six different leaders including LaDuc, who had an exciting duel with Don Mattison.
Justin Stone started 18th and came to life late in the race, leading only the final nine laps. Todd Stone came from 21st to pass LaDuc for second with less than five circuits left.

Comes passed Mike McGinn for the lead with nine laps left and outlasted the field on a green-white-checkered restart with two laps remaining. Dakota Green’s runner-up showing was the best of his young career, and Evan Roberts came from 21st starting position for third.

SUMMARY: Chris Murray wasted little time in making his move from 8th at the start to take the lead on lap 3. Murray ran away from the field, but Jim McKiernan made a late charge to finish a tight second; it was Murray’s seventh win of 2021, and the 32nd of his career, breaking a tie with Hector Stratton for 11th place on Devil’s Bowl Speedway’s all-time win list since the track opened in 1967.
