Celebrate Freedom, Family & Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Racing This Weekend In Ohio

Story By: LUCAS OIL LATE MODEL DIRT SERIES – BATAVIA, OH – Celebrate freedom, family, and racing this weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Teams will once again enjoy Independence Day celebrations in the Buckeye state at Portsmouth Raceway Park and Muskingum County Speedway.

On Friday, July 2nd, Portsmouth Raceway Park will host the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the annual Independence 50 presented by Able Air with a complete program of: Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $12,000-to-win main event. The Modifieds and Limited Late Models will serve as support divisions on Friday. The pit gate will open at 2:00 PM at Portsmouth Raceway Park. The general admission gates will open at 4:00 PM, with on-track action beginning at 7:00 PM.

Saturday’s annual July 3rd event at Muskingum County Speedway will see the pit gate open at 2:00 PM. The general admission gates open at 2:00 PM for those with advance purchase tickets and 3:00 PM with an onsite purchase. The Prime Solutions 50 will be the largest payday in Muskingum County Speedway history. In addition to the edge of your seat action produced by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Saturday will also feature Open Wheel Modifieds, Sport Mods, and Four Cylinders, with hot laps beginning at 6:30 PM. Muskingum County Speedway will also have the largest display of fireworks the area has to offer. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will have a full show of: Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a 50-lap, $15,000-to-win Main event.

Heading into the weekend, Tim McCreadie continues to hold a narrow 30 point lead over Hudson O’Neal, while Jonathan Davenport sits in third, trailing by 120 points. Kyle Bronson holds down the fourth position, 110 points out of third. With only 80 points separating fourth through tenth in standings, Mike Marlar hangs onto the fifth position followed by Josh Richards, Shane Clanton, Ricky Thornton Jr, Tyler Erb, and Jimmy Owens.
