Erick Rudolph Collects’ Two Podiums, One Victory At Ransomville Speedway

Story By: TYLER WALKER / ERICK RUDOLPH RACING – RANSOMVILLE, NY – Erick Rudolph has been racing at Ransomville Speedway since his very first start in a Go-Kart in the late ’90s.

Over 20 years later he returned to Ransomville for their 63rd season opener and came out with the victory.

He then followed up his victory at Land of Legends on Saturday with a 2nd place finish.

A few weeks earlier during “Test, Tune and Time”, Erick took home the Quick-Time honors which gave him a front-row starting spot for the A-Main Friday night. He started alongside competitor Mat Williamson on the front row. The two battled hard when the field was bunched up but Erick had the better car on long green flag runs, ultimately leading to a win.

“It’s always nice racing here at Ransomville Speedway, we haven’t raced this close to home since 2019. It’s literally 5 mins from the shop. The fans in this region are die-hard fans who have been starved of racing and it was nice to bring home a win in front of them. This marks the first victory for us since Highmark BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York has been rebranded.” Rudolph said.

This win marks Erick’s 24th at the historic Western New York oval, which is good for fourth all-time. The All-Time wins list goes as follows, Danny Johnson- 40 wins, Pete Bicknell & Todd Burley are tied for second with 37 wins, and then Erick with 24.

Saturday night the #25 team traveled East to race at the Land of Legends Raceway where Erick was crowned the Big-Block track champion in 2018. He started 3rd in his heat and quickly made his way up to the point and went on to win his heat leading him to the redraw. At the redraw he would select the 7th starting position. By the first caution/red flag he had already made his way up to the 4th position. When it was all said done Erick brought home the #25 in 2nd place behind an extremely fast Matt Sheppard.

I spoke to Erick Sunday morning, he said, “We had a solid two nights of racing. We were consistent and that is all you can ask for. The #9 was fast, he was the class of the field tonight. I’m relieved to see the guys that wrecked on the front stretch are all safe, that looked like a nasty deal.”

Erick and the Motech Enterprises/ BBL Racing team would like to thank everyone that makes this possible, ReVive Spine Center, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY, St. Lawrence Radiology, National Maintenance Contracting Corp, Stirling Lubricants, Mohawk Northeast, Brigham Concrete, Olson Fab, Crown Benefits, Tim Hortons, and all of our product sponsors.

Up next for Erick Rudolph Racing is a visit to Outlaw Speedway, Tuesday with the Short Track Super Series.
