Fonda Speedway To Host Adirondack Night This Week At The “Track Of Champions”

Story By: RON SZCZERBA / FONDA SPEEDWAY – FONDA, NY – The “Track of Champions” Fonda Speedway will be back in action this Saturday, May 1 with a regular racing program in all divisions highlighted by race number one of six in the American Racer/Lias Tire Super Six Series for the Algonkin Motel Pro Stocks featuring a $1,000 to win event for the full-bodied cars.

All other regular divisions will also be in action on Saturday, May 1 including the Sunoco Modifieds, the Swagger Factory Apparel Crate 602 Sportsman, the Montgomery County Office for Aging Inc. Limited Sportsman, and the Fonda Fair Cruisers. For the first event in a new month of May the gates will open at 4:00 p.m. with hot laps at 6:00 p.m. and racing at 7:00 p.m.

The heat race events have been highly competitive for the first two weeks of the 2021 season as the only repeat winner of a qualifying race has been Kenny Gates in the Algonkin Pro Stock division winning his heat race in both weeks of competition.

Other qualifying race winners at Fonda so far in 2021 include Stewart Friesen, Bobby Varin, Brian Gleason, Cale Ross, defending track champion Michael Maresca, Rocky Warner, Danny Tyler, Tim Fuller (consolation), and Alan Johnson (consolation) in the Sunoco Modified division; Tim Dwyer, Finch Fenton, Brian Calabrese, Dan Santabarbara, Tim Hartman Jr., Mark Mortensen, Cody Clark, Brian Borst, Mike Ketchum (consolation), Addison Bowman (consolation), Jason Greco (consolation), and Tanner Warner (consolation) in the Swagger Factory Apparel Crate 602 Sportsman.

Algonkin Motel Pro Stock heat race events were won by Chuck Dumblewski, Kenny Gates, Beau Ballard, defending track champion Nick Stone, and Kenny Gates for a second time in two weeks. The Montgomery County Office for Aging Inc. Limited Sportsman heat race events were won by Taylor LaPlante, Stephen Gray, Johnny Young, and Clayton DuMond.
