Donny Schatz, TSR Cap Texas WoO Run With Pair Of Top-Tens; Missouri Double Next

Story By: TYLER ALTMEYER / TONY STEWART RACING – BROWNSBURG, IN – Padding their 2021 competitive streak, Donny Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing concluded their recent weekend in the Lone Star State with back-to-back top-ten performances, doing so during Cotton Bowl Speedway’s Texas Two-Step on Friday and Saturday, March 19-20.

The top-ten sweep, highlighted with a top-five run during the Texas opener on Friday, pushed Schatz’ top-ten total to seven in eight starts against the Greatest Show On Dirt, six of which in consecutive fashion.

Schatz, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Carquest Auto Parts/Curb Records/Ford Performance/Sage Fruit/Digital Ally/Advance Auto Parts/Rush Truck Centers/Absolute Automation and Security/Hunt Brothers Pizza/J&J Auto Racing/No. 15 sprint car, earned his top-five outcome from the outside of row five, bouncing ahead five spots to secure fifth in the running order. The Fargo, North Dakota-native finished fourth during heat race action to earn his way into Friday’s program.

The following evening, Schatz concluded the Texas Two-Step with a seventh-place run after starting 13th on the $10,000-to-win grid. Schatz finished fifth in his respective heat race to kick-off his final night in the Lone Star State, timing 13th-fastest overall just beforehand.

Donny Schatz will continue his 2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series campaign with a doubleheader in Missouri, visiting US 36 Raceway in Osborn on Friday, March 26, followed by a stop at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon on Saturday, March 27. The ten-time World of Outlaws champion is a recent winner at Lake Ozark Speedway, earning a $10,000 score over Elk Grove, California’s Kyle Larson on May 30, 2020.

Schatz and Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing will enter the Show-Me State double tied for third in the current Outlaws standings, trailing Series leader and two-time champion, Brad Sweet, by 38 markers.
