Podium Finish In Xtreme DIRTcar Series Race At Lavonia Closes Out 2020 For Chris Madden

Story By: COLE PERKINS / CHRIS MADDEN RACING – GRAY COURT, SC – Chris Madden made his final start of the 2020 racing season this past Saturday afternoon at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA, rounding out the podium in Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series-sanctioned action.

Smokey was one of 22 entries signed in to battle for $5,000 to win on a cool December afternoon at one of his home tracks. In qualifying, Chris was second fastest overall, placing him on the pole of an 8-lap heat race. Chris led flag to flag to take the win in his heat race, putting him in the re-draw in which he drew the sixth starting spot for the 40 lap main event.

Given a track hard to pass on, Chris had his work cut out for him to get to the front in the feature. At halfway, Chris had only advanced one position, but a late race charge in the final 20 laps boosted him up to 3rd to round out the podium in his final start of the year.

In 2020, Chris attended 64 events, recording 9 wins, 30 top-5’s and 43 top-10 finishes. Chris Madden Racing is set to kick off their 2021 season at Cherokee Speedway xin Gaffney, SC on January 9th. Madden will enter the event as the Drydene Xtreme DIRTcar Series points leader after 3 events so far.
