Big Diamond Speedway Set To Return To Action This Coming Friday Night

Story By: BIG DIAMOND SPEEDWAY – MINERSVILLE, PA – Coming off a highly successful Coalcracker weekend, the Big Diamond Speedway is ready to roar back to life this Friday, September 25th on Savage 61 night.

This year’s Coalcracker weekend was one for the ages in regard to car counts and attendance and the speedway is looking to build on that momentum as we head into the fall schedule of races.

The Insigner Performance Modifeds will headline this week’s action on Friday night with a 25-lap feature event paying $4,000 to the winner. The points championship in the modified division is still there for the taking with Mike Gular leading the way looking for his first ever points title at Big Diamond. Craig Von Dohren currently sits in the second spot with Jeff Strunk in third. It should be a battle to the finish as these three veterans slug it out to see who is king of the 2020 season.

The U.S.S Achey Open Sportsman will also be in action on Friday competing in a twenty-lap main event. This year’s open sportsman division has been dominated by Brad Brightbill and Brandon Edgar with each driver having multiple wins. Brightbill currently leads the points standing over Edgar as they battle for supremacy in the open sportsman division.

The Savage 61 group of auto dealerships who are the presenting sponsor this of Friday’s program are also the title sponsor of the Big Diamond Speedway Crate 602 Sportsman division. As part of Savage 61 night, the winner of the Crate 602 feature event will receive $661. Opening night winner Cody Manmiller continues to lead the points with a 37-point advantage over Ryan Conrad.

Rounding out the nights racing card will be the Red White and Blue Autos Roadrunner with current points leader Alex Schoffstall continuing to lead the way over Chris Holland. There will also be a 50-lap endure race to complete the night.

Gates will open this Friday at 5:30pm with warmups hitting the track at 7:00pm. Racing will get underway at 7:30pm

General admission for Friday night will be $20, Seniors $18. Kids 16 and under are free. Active military with a valid ID will be admitted free.

Saturday night, Big Diamond Speedway in conjunction with Bent Metal Motorsports & Demolition Derby Promotions will present a Demo Derby. There will be four division competing on the night. The 80’s and Newer V8 Full Size will compete for an $1100 first-place prize. The Mild Compact division will race for a winner’s share of $1000. Next up will be the Mini Van / Mini Truck division competing for a $500 first-place prize and the final division competing will be the Bone Stock Compact 4- & 6-Cylinder division also competing for a $500 winners share.

Gates and registration will open at noon on Saturday with the action getting underway at 3:00pm. General admission for Saturday is $18, ages 12 – 16 $10, ages 6 – 11 $5.00, kids under 5 are free.
