Modifieds Take Week Off This Week At Woodhull Raceway; Non-Points Event On Tap

Story By: STEVEN OVENS / WOODHULL RACEWAY – WOODHULL, NY – Woodhull Raceway has filled a gap on their 2020 schedule this weekend with a non-point event that will feature $1,000-to-win events for several divisions and a special 20 Lap trophy race for the track’s youngest up and coming stars.

Popular Southern Tier bar and restaurant, the Nikk L Brew, is prepared to present this weekend’s racing activities at Woodhull Raceway. Located on Main Street in downtown Canisteo, NY, Nikk L Brew is well known for their great atmosphere, pizza/wing specials, Friday fish fry, Prime Rib specials and some of the most satisfying entrees this side of the PA border.

Owned by new Woodhull Raceway owners Terry and Nikki Brewer, Nikk L Brew invites your family to stop in and see what everyone else is talking about! Nikk L Brew is closed on Saturdays until October now that race season is in full swing.

This weekend’s schedule was initially filled by the annual stop of the popular Lucas Oil Tractor and Truck Pull. But with the grandstands continuing to be closed due to New York State and Steuben County regulations, this event was cancelled and the special non-point format event added.

The Insinger Performance Modifieds will take the week off on Saturday night and will return on August 1st. That leaves center stage to be filled with 30-Lap $1,000-to-win shows for both the NAPA Crate Sportsman and Cummings Trucking RUSH Crate Late Models.

In addition, the youngest generation of Woodhull racers will have a special event. The Big Jim’s Wicked Tees Warriors will race a 20-Lap Trophy Special thanks to a donation of trophies from Wayne Corcoran.

Also in competition will be 20-Lap main events for the Joe Willcox Performance Automatics Street Stocks, Woodhull Auto Supply Hobby Stocks, Big Jim’s Wicked Tees Mini Stocks and Johnson Automotive Front Wheel Drives.

The Pits will open at 3:30PM with the driver’s meeting scheduled for 5:45PM at the pit shack. Hot Laps will fire off at 6PM and the first green flag from Tony Van Pelt will fly at 6:30PM. Pit passes are set at $35 with Pit Passes for ages under 12 being a reduced price of $20. All divisions will be draw/redraw, transponders will be used.

In lieu of fans being able to attend the race program in the grandstands, there will be a live video feed provided on the Woodhull Raceway Twitch page sponsored by Alfred State Motorsports and Race Pro Weekly.

Race fans are encouraged to make a small donation for the live video coverage, which goes directly toward the driver’s point fund for 2020.
