Billy Pauch Jr., Rick Holsten Racing Look To Ride Momentum Into Friday At Georgetown

Story By: BRETT DEYO / GEORGETOWN SPEEDWAY – GEORGETOWN, DE – Historic Georgetown Speedway is set to fire off for the first time in six weeks this Friday night, July 24.

Blue Hen Dispose-All presents a doubleheader of the L&J Sheet Metal Modifieds and Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars (wingless) on the progressively banked half-mile oval.

With $3,000 on the line for the big-block/small-block Modifieds, Billy Pauch Jr. and the Rick Holsten No. 96 team look to continue their hot streak on the Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Delaware Modified circuit. Pauch Jr. and Holsten head to the First State Friday on the heels of a big Short Track Super Series (STSS) victory Sunday at BAPS Motor Speedway in Newberrytown, Pa., where the New Jersey driver held off titans Stewart Friesen and Matt Sheppard for the triumph.

Pauch Jr. knows how to get it done at Georgetown. He put the Holsten No. 96 in Victory Lane last August with national MAV-TV cameras on site.

Pauch Jr. owns back-to-back STSS Modified victories, also picking up the Sunoco checkered flag at Pa.’s Big Diamond Speedway in June. He is chasing the Sunoco Championship Series point standings at Georgetown and enters Friday’s event just four points behind leader Danny Bouc.

Friday’s program will mark the second event at Georgetown since the complete resurfacing of the half-mile track in the spring.
