Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series’ Ready To Roll Back The Times At Fonda

Story By: LAURIE FALLIS / MOHAWK VALLEY VINTAGE DIRT MODIFIED SERIES – FONDA, NY – After long awaited anticipation, Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series (MVVDMS) drivers are ready to get their vintage season started at the Fonda Speedway.

Once again, they’ll keep the history alive with the looks of the cars and sounds of the engines of the past that puts the excitement in the air for Vintage racing.

With a large field of cars expected at the historic track, the Series will be representing over six decades of our dirt racing and those drivers that paved the way. MVVDMS is finally ready to see some green flag racing this Saturday night at the “Track Of Champions.”

Hitting the track will be the popular Vintage Antique class. This class is designed for the older cars…the grass root cars. They will be running their own heat and a feature.

They will be joined by the popular Vintage Replica’s class. This class is broken up into three separate divisions, Vintage Modified, Vintage Sportsman and Vintage Latemodels. There will be two heats and a feature for this class. We’ll have two Vintage features with four division winners!

“Its unfortunate that the virus has affected special events planned on the schedule like the prestigious Fonda Speedway Hall Of Fame night that was slated on Saturday,” a series official said.

With the pandemic and regulations put forth, the great fans of the series will be unable to attend in the stands. That said, the series and its drivers will be dedicating their features to their awesome fans.

The series point races will start this Saturday night at Fonda. Two point shows have already been lost at Albany-Saratoga and Fonda. That leaves five remaining before we get into our open shows at the various tracks throughout the season.
