Two Open Practice Dates Set For Outlaw Speedway In Preparation For The 2020 Racing Season
Story By: KENNY SHUPP / OUTLAW SPEEDWAY – DUNDEE, NY – The time is getting closer for racers to get their machinery onto the speedway in preparation for the 2020 season and the Outlaw Speedway is pleased to announce that two big practice dates will be made available prior to the Lucas Oil Nationals on April 11, 2020.
Friday, April 3 and 10 will see the track open for practice sessions for any and all competitors that will be racing at Outlaw Speedway during the 2020 season.
Outlaw Speedway Owner/Promoter, Tyler Siri is a racer himself competing in the Friendly CDJR Modified Division and he knows full well the importance of practice prior to the start of the season.
“It doesn’t matter how well you prepare in the shop it is always a good thing to practice before the season begins. Not only does it give a driver an opportunity to sharpen their skills after the winter lay off, but it also allows crew members to play with different combinations and chassis set ups that they might not otherwise try on a regular night of action. In addition making several practice laps will give immediate feedback if there are any oil leaks or brake issues after reassembling the car over the winter months.”
Siri is also very excited to see race machinery on the fast four tenths of a mile clay oval as he and his track maintenance crew were able to complete numerous improvements to the race facility late last fall before winter weather set in.
“We removed the concrete Jersey Barriers that aligned the entire front straight away. Also, we laid down several loads of clay into the turns one and three areas of the track. We’re excited to see how these areas hold up under race conditions after making the necessary improvements to a couple of trouble spots.” That according to Siri.
Grandstand admission for both practice dates is absolutely free and it gives race fans an opportunity to see firsthand the all new equipment and paint schemes. A $20 fee for pit entry will be charged to cover insurance costs for each practice night.
Pit and grandstand entrance times as well as the hours of practice can be found on the tracks Facebook as the dates become closer. Drivers will receive ample time throughout the night to shake down their rides in preparation for the season lid lifter on April 11 for the Lucas Oil Nationals.
