Sprint Cars & Super LM’s At Williams Grove Speedway Friday Under The Lights

Story By: SHAWN BROUSE / WILLIAMS GROVE SPEEDWAY – MECHANICSBURG, PA – Williams Grove Speedway returns to action with its first night program of the 2020 season this Friday, March 20 at 7:30 pm, featuring the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint cars and the ULMS Super Late Models.

The super late models will be competing in the first of what will be six shows for the big stock cars at the oval this season, staged as the season opener for the 20th anniversary ULMS season.

The 410 sprints will compete in a 25-lap main event paying $4,080 to win while the ULMS Late Models go in a 30-lap affair paying $3,000 to the winner.

Gates for the show will open at 5:30 pm with practice laps slated for 7.

Adult general admission is set at $18 with ages 13-20 admitted for just $10. Youth ages 12 and under are always admitted for FREE at Williams Grove Speedway.

The late model field should be the most stout to assemble anywhere this early season as many of the stock car big guns will use the show as their first race of the year anywhere.

Defending ULMS champion Max Blair of Titusville will be in the field along with Mike Norris of Sarver, Coleby Frye, Dover; Bryan Bernheisel, Lebanon; Kyle Lee, Mercersburg; Jason Covert, York Haven; Gregg Satterlee, Rochester Mills; and Maxon Zeigler, Chalk Hill.

The winner of two out of three late model events at the track in 2019, Rick Eckert of York is also expected to be in action.

Out of staters planning to attend include Kyle Hardy of Stephens City, Va., and Matt Cosner, Ridgeley, Wv.

Drivers in both the sprint and late model divisons will draw for heat and feature starting positions.

Driving for Kyle Larson, Californian Carson Macedo kicked off the 2020 racing season at Williams Grove Speedway Sunday afternoon with a sprint car win over a field of 32 cars in action.
