Two Noticeable Changes On ’20 Williams Grove Schedule; Good News For 410 Sprint And Super LM Fans

Story By: SHAWN BROUSE / WILLIAMS GROVE SPEEDWAY – MECHCANICSBURG, PA – Compared to recent seasons, two noticeable changes are in line for fans when they take their first look at the 2020 Williams Grove Speedway schedule of events.

Initially released in mid-December, the 2020 slate quite simply offers more super late model racing and more “sprints only” shows than in year’s past.

Most noticeably, a trio of Williams Grove fan favorites have become stand alone 410 sprint car shows this year.

“The Big Three,” consisting of the Mitch Smith Memorial, the Jack Gunn Memorial Twin 20s and the Tommy Hinnershitz Classic are all speedway gems that are slated to cast the spotlight on purely super sprint car action.

The All Stars Circuit of Champions Tommy Classic is coming up first on the list, planned for April 17.

And then the Pennsylvania Speedweek $15,000-to-win Mitch Smith Memorial is July 3.

Finally, the focus will be on the All Stars Circuit of Champions Jack Gunn Memorial Twin 20s on August 28.

The total increased by two shows for 2020, a total of six events for the super late models exist on the awaiting season including some big events for the stock cars.

The popular ULMS Late Model Series will sanction two of the six super late races.

The first will be taking place relatively soon, on March 20 while the second ULMS event is planned for April 10.

Williams Grove Speedway will also step up to the plate for the super lates when it hosts a leg of the PA Super Late Model Challenge Series on June 5.

But the biggest show of the year for the class will take place on August 21 when the World of Outlaws Super Late Models Series invades for a $10,000 to win event.

Other Williams Grove super late model races will hit the track on March 27 and on August 7 when the stock cars get the chance to tune up for the upcoming outlaws invasion.

The 2020 season opener featuring 410 sprint cars only is slated for Sunday afternoon, March 15 at 2 pm.
