Dennis Erb Jr. Penalized After Missing World Of Outlaws LM Series Post-Race Inspection Wednesday

Information By: WORLD OF OUTLAWS – BARBERVILLE, FL – Following a wild night of World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series racing on the track Wednesday at Volusia Speedway Park’s DIRTcar Nationals presented by Bozard Ford, Dennis Erb Jr. was penalized for failing to report to post-race inspection.

Erb took the lead with seven laps to go and held off Brandon Sheppard to the checkered flag. Following the victory lane celebration, Erb returned to the pits but failed to present his car to officials for inspection. His finishing position was dropped to last place.

“It was announced at the drivers meeting there would be post-race inspection,” Series Director Casey Shuman said. “Unfortunately, Dennis did not meet that requirement and was penalized.”

Erb did not want to comment after the penalty was issued.

Sheppard will be credited with the victory, his first of the year after a series of runner-up finishes.

The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Models return to Volusia on Thursday night.
