Lebanon Valley Pro Stock Racer Rob Yetman To Enter 2020 Chili Bowl Nationals
Story By: DON & JO ANN DAVIES / ROB YETMAN RACING – EAST GREENBUSH, NY – Rob Yetman Racing is pleased to announce a partnership with Steve Buckwalter Racing of Royersford, PA to field a 2020 Chili Bowl Nationals entry.
The Chili Bowl Nationals is one of the most recognizable events in racing in the United States. Over 300 drivers were entered in this premier event in 2019 and it is anticipated that number will be surpassed for the 2020 event. Buckwalter, a well-known Northeast open wheel racer, will provide Yetman with an Eagle chassis, Ford engine powered, no. 00 Midget for the January 12-18, 2020 Chili Bowl, as well as an experienced crew to maintain the car throughout the week.
Yetman, best known for his prowess as a dirt Pro Stock driver, has 138 career wins and 10 track championships, as well as being the only driver to have won five consecutive Super DIRT Week (Oswego, NY) events in the Pro Stock division.
Wanting an opportunity to drive in the Chili Bowl was the result of a trip to that event 10 years ago. “Ever since I’ve wanted to see if I could do this,” said Yetman. “This deal came about real fast and I want to thank Waterford Beverage (Waterford, NY), L. Browe Asphalt Services (East Greenbush, NY) and The Bottle & Can Co. (East Greenbush, NY) for stepping up to help make this possible.”
Contemplating the intensity of running at the Chili Bowl Yetman stated, “…my goal is to try and qualify. I want to have some fun with this. To have the chance to race against someone in qualifying like Kyle Larsen or Christopher Bell would be awesome.”
To prepare for the event Yetman is spending time on a simulator program for the Chili Bowl to acquaint himself with the track. The 51 year old driver is looking forward to taking an item off his bucket list. “I can’t thank Steve enough for making my dream a reality,” said Yetman. “I’m looking forward to this opportunity with great anticipation.”
